Product Overview

The SPL0601 is an IP67 programmable controller designed for fire trucks, rescue vehicles, and other special-purpose mobile equipment. It provides 66 physical I/O points to connect pressure, level, temperature, position, speed, valve, pump, lighting, and auxiliary control circuits.

Three CAN interfaces, four RS232 ports, one RS485 port, and one Ethernet interface allow the controller to communicate with vehicle ECUs, displays, sensors, communication devices, and other machine subsystems. The controller supports CODESYS 3.5 programming and operates from an 8–32 VDC power supply.

Specification

I/O Configuration

The SPL0601 provides 66 physical I/O resources with configurable analog, digital, resistance, frequency, PWM, and H-Bridge functions. This flexible signal mix allows the controller to connect directly to different sensors and actuators.

Input Resources

Channels Available signal types
10 4–20 mA, 0–5 V, or digital input
12 0–5 V or digital input
5 0–10 V or configurable high/low-level digital input
5 0–32 V or digital input
2 16 Ω–10 kΩ, 0–5 V, or digital input
4 Frequency or digital input, including two quadrature encoder pairs, up to 30 kHz

Output Resources

Channels Available signal types
6 High-side PWM or digital output with current feedback
10 High-side PWM or digital output
4 Configurable high-/low-side PWM or digital output
2 Independent H-Bridge outputs
10 High-side digital outputs
Shared-channel note: The SPL0601 has 66 physical I/O resources. X14/Q24 and X15/Q27 share physical channels, so the controller can be configured with up to 38 inputs or up to 32 outputs depending on how these multifunction channels are assigned.

PWM and Current Control

The SPL0601 provides configurable PWM, high-side, low-side, and H-Bridge outputs for controlling proportional valves, solenoids, motors, and other electrical loads.

6 Current-Feedback PWM Outputs

Six high-side PWM outputs provide current feedback from 0–3 A for monitoring and controlling connected loads.

Closed-Loop Current Control

Closed-loop current regulation from 100–1500 mA supports stable control when the load or supply voltage changes.

Configurable PWM Frequency

PWM frequency can be configured from 10–2000 Hz with an adjustable duty cycle from 0% to 100%.

High-/Low-Side and H-Bridge Control

Four outputs can operate as high- or low-side PWM channels, or be paired to form two independent H-Bridges.

Output capacity: High-side outputs support up to 3 A per channel. Configurable low-side outputs support up to 3.5 A per channel.

Communication Interfaces

The SPL0601 combines CAN, Ethernet, RS232, and RS485 interfaces for communication between the controller and other electronic devices within a mobile machine control system.

3× CAN Interfaces

Three CAN 2.0A/B channels support communication speeds from 20 kbit/s to 1 Mbit/s, with a default baud rate of 250 kbit/s.

CANopen SAE J1939 User-defined

1× Ethernet Interface

The Ethernet interface supports TCP/IP and user-defined application-layer protocols. It can also be used for programming, debugging, and controller updates.

TCP/IP Multi-port operation

4× RS232 Ports

Four RS232 ports provide point-to-point serial communication with a maximum baud rate of 115200 bit/s.

Point-to-point Up to 115200 bit/s

1× RS485 Port

One RS485 port supports user-defined serial communication with a maximum baud rate of 115200 bit/s.

RS485 User-defined protocol

Protection and Diagnostics

The SPL0601 includes power monitoring, output protection, and internal diagnostic functions to help detect electrical and controller operating faults.

Voltage Monitoring

The controller monitors overvoltage and undervoltage conditions and provides an undervoltage cut-off function.

Output Protection

Digital output channels include short-circuit feedback, short-circuit protection, and overtemperature protection.

Input Protection

Input channels include protection against reverse power and ground connection.

Controller Diagnostics

A watchdog function, program diagnostics, and system self-diagnostics monitor controller operation.

Operating voltage 8–32 VDC
Short-duration overvoltage 36 V for up to 10 seconds
Undervoltage detection At or below 9 V
Undervoltage cut-off At or below 7 V
Status indication: The blue status LED indicates normal operation, missing runtime or application software, and controller fault conditions.
